Humanist Coaching
FAQs
What kinds of clients do you work with?
I serve high-functioning humans navigating the pain of identity rupture. These are folks who were capable, strong, doing life… until something cracked the ground beneath them, and now they feel disconnected from their bodies and spirit.

This work is especially supportive for adults who self-identify as thinkers, highly cognitive and hyper-vigilant about their choices.
Often, these clients weren't making progress in their healing even though they had tried everything to feel better.

My clients are ready to invest in their wellness because they recognize that it's the most important thing they have.
I'm not interested in working with folks who say they want a better life, but are not committed to getting it.

What exactly is embodied integration?
To truly understand the benefits of embodied integration, it’s something you need to experience. At its heart, this work leads to deeper self-understanding, rooted not only in our mind’s stories and cognitive awareness, but also in the sensations of the body, the protective mechanisms of the ego and the deeper driving purpose of the spirit.

As your coach, I create a grounded, supportive space for you to explore what is happening in your mind, emotions and body, and to understand how the ways you have learned to live have become embodied. Together, we look at what you may have inherited from your family, culture and the systems around you, what has helped you survive or succeed, and what no longer fits the life you want to live.

The work also includes Grounded Expansion: making room for the spiritual and energetic dimensions of being human, and exploring what becomes possible when we can stay present to our lived experience while trusting something larger than ourselves.

The three pillars of my embodiment work are as follows:
1. Inner Sovereignty - trusting your internal compass rather than automatically seeking external validation or permission
2. Unconditional Love - Making space for the full and whole experience of being human, with compassion rather than judgement
3. Radical Acceptance - Honestly assessing the circumstances of the present moment and discerning what is and isn't within your control
‍
How are you different from other health practitioners?
I don't see you as a problem to be solved or a set of symptoms to be managed. There is no one-size-fits-all formula for becoming more fully yourself.

My role isn't to tell you what you should do. It's to create the conditions for you to understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your internal compass and develop the self-trust to make choices that are genuinely your own.

This means we look beneath the surface of what you're experiencing. Together, we explore the patterns, beliefs and protective mechanisms that may have developed through your life, including the ways your family, culture and the systems around you may have shaped what feels safe, normal or necessary. What looks like a personal limitation may sometimes be an adaptation that once served an important purpose.

But understanding these patterns is only part of the work. We also practise being with what is uncomfortable, in a relationship where you can be witnessed without judgement and with tools to help you stay present and regulated as you do. Rather than asking you to push through discomfort or immediately make it go away, we gradually develop your capacity to remain with what is here, listen to what it is communicating and discover that you may have more choice than your habitual responses have allowed.

Many coaching approaches are designed to move you efficiently from Point A to Point B. That can be exactly what someone needs. My work prioritises depth over distance, so that meaningful shifts can take root rather than simply creating another strategy for you to perform.

Embodied integration also asks us to slow down enough to actually experience what is happening within you. Instead of treating urgency as a requirement for change, we develop the capacity to be present with what is here, understand what it is asking of you and consciously decide what you want to carry forward.

And perhaps most importantly, trust is foundational to my work. I believe meaningful change happens within a relationship where you feel safe enough to be honest, curious enough to explore what you discover and supported enough to be fully yourself. Building authentic trust between us is therefore not something that happens alongside the work. It is an essential foundation of the work.
What is special about embodied integration?
This work is...
🔹 Comprehensive: You will meet your fundamental human needs at the level of cognition, emotion, spirit and survival – because your stress is multidimensional, and so is your healing.
🔹 Nurturing: You will get personalized 1:1 embodied integration coaching which is trauma-informed and at a pacing that feels right for you because healing happens when we feel safe, seen and supported enough to accept ourselves as we are.
🔹 Transformative: You will walk away with lifelong tools and a renewed connection to yourself and that which is greater because this work is more than just a quick-fix or bandaid solution.

Embodied integration recognizes that we exist in a mind-body system and getting results in our healing requires going beyond physiology. We must attend to the mind which exists as much in the brain as in the body and in the energy between all of us. We have the answers. Our bodies have the answers. My role as a coach is to empower you to access your own truth and create a container where your personal healing can happen.
‍
What is expected of me?
You will show up for yourself in a way that you may never have before which means being honest, finding value in your suffering and believing change is possible for you. This isn't always easy, but I will be supporting you all the way along.
‍
You will be ready to invest in yourself with your time, your energy and your finances because you recognize that your mind-body health is the most valuable asset you have. You will integrate your coaching experiences between our sessions with a level of self-responsibility for your own progress.
‍
You will commit to 60-75 minutes weekly to attend your sessions.
You will also have access to reliable internet for online sessions. I don't currently offer in-person coaching.
‍
Who does embodied integration NOT work for?
Embodied Integration is not for you if you are unwilling to try something different from what you're used to. We will be shaking up some narratives that feel like fact.
It's also not a good fit for people who make excuses in order to keep putting themselves and their wellness last on the list of priorities.
‍
I am interested in working with individuals who value their life enough to commit and invest in healing, expanding and evolving into the best version they can.
That commitment includes a level of self-responsibilty and the drive to implement this work between sessions.
‍
I’m selective about who I work with, choosing to be honest with people who aren’t suited for my approach as it wouldn't be fair to them.
Getting started by joining the waitlist is the best way to find out if this work is for you.
‍
How is being coached through embodied integration different from going it alone?
Your coaching experience is greatly impacted by your attunement with a regulated nervous system. In the safety of such a container, your limiting paradigms can be challenged lovingly and with impartiality. Insight as to unhelpful patterns in our meaning-making are not often available to us without having them mirrored back by a caring listener. Also, our primal need for love, safety and belonging makes this process deeper when it's engaged within a trusting relationship and our orphaned parts are witnessed with unconditional acceptance. Humans heal in relationship and community.
‍
What exactly do you offer for embodied integration?
Your package will begin with a commitment of 6 months to estabish foundational tools of the work and get clear on the specific ways polyvagal biology is impacting you and can be considered in your healing journey. We will co-create your path forward centred in your deepest desires and greatest potential.

The magic of this work is in the compounding effect of a series of sessions and the commitment that you are bringing to it.
The first step is to join my waitlist and I'll contact you when there is an opening.
‍
How quickly can I expect results?
Transformation doesn’t have to take years—it simply requires presence, genuine recognition of past patterns, and the readiness to intentionally redefine your relationship with what's happened: divorce, career collapse, loss, health scare, burnout, family estrangement etc.

That said, every individual's experience and circumstance is unique. Where some clients experience profound results from the first session, others find that their regular commitment is what eventually leads to sustained regulation in their nervous system and a deeper connection to the miracle of life.

Embodied Integration also has a butterfly effect meaning it's not unusual for clients to see benefits that show up months or even years into the future due to work that was done several months or years before.
‍
You mention it a lot, but what does it actually mean to be living embodied?
Embodiment is at the heart of this work because to live embodied is to embrace the wholeness of the human experience: the stories of the mind, the emotional sensations of the body, the protective mechanisms of the ego AND the truth and purpose of the spirit all considered and valued in our self-understanding.

Our ability to be embodied is a key component in our capacity for healing. We've been socialized to prioritize our thinking brains over the information and wisdom available to us when we can be in the experience of emotions in our bodies presented as sensation and vibration.

Most of us are very energetically imbalanced and lacking prowess in the more energetically feminine skills of connecting with intuition, recognizing sensations, receiving, allowing, accepting and resting in moments of non-doing.

To learn this is to embrace the wholeness of what it is to be human and come into better balance. Without this, we suffer all of the unfavourable expressions of disconnection from ourselves. Embodiment is coming home to your body.

Living Embodied is:
⬧ having awareness of our emotions coming up while holding the belief that we are safe
⬧ having the capacity to endure the physical manifestations of the emotions if they are uncomfortable
⬧ having an understanding that experiencing emotion is a normal part of being human so we can let go of any fear or judgement about it showing up
⬧ having a willingness to learn what the emotions are trying to tell us when they surface
‍
How much time will I need for an Embodied Integration package?
Sessions are approximately 60-75 minutes once per week. We will meet 3 times/month for six months with time built in for integration and self-leadership.
‍
Will I recover the investment that I put into this work?
Investing in yourself, both financially and with your time, has you showing up differently to the work. It's a revolutionary act in a world that teaches us to ignore our body’s signals and keep pushing through, prioritizing everything but ourselves.

If you trust the process and allow yourself to slow down, get present, be honest and take the time and space necessary to feel safe, you will profoundly change your life. Since this work helps you break unhealthy patterns, protect your children, and positively impact your family and community, it causes a ripple effect with an immeasurable ROI. But only you can decide if it's important enough to you.

We will start with a package of 1:1 Embodied Integration sessions at an investment of $3333 CAD. This includes 18 online sessions and between session support.
‍
Do you offer in person coaching?
Humanist Coaching is an online coaching service, so sessions, communication and information will be offered via the internet, or on occasion the phone. This makes scheduling and commuting easier for both client and coach.

If there is ever an internet issue, a replacement session will be arranged.

I'm interested, but now is not the right time. I think it's better to start when I don't have so much going on, right?
Of course it is important that you feel ready and excited for this change, but please consider that embodied integration helps us to manage the ups and downs in our lives. It is possible that this is exactly the thing that will make 'having so much going on' easier and less stressful.

Taking one hour for yourself each week to regulate your nervous system, get grounded and present with my support should not be considered a luxury.

Instead of seeing this work as another thing to do, you can think of embodied integration as a support system that will help you feel less overwhelmed, reactive and at the mercy of your life so you can enjoy it even when you are taking on new, busy or stressful things.

This may be the perfect time to start, in fact. Don't let it be one of those things where you finally do the work and only wish you had done it sooner because it could have prevented additional suffering and challenge.
‍
Okay, I want to work with you. How do I get started?

I'm ready to do this, but I still have some questions.
I’ll be sure to cover all of your questions comprehensively before you invest in your coaching package.
